Yes — always. The film runs at 60V AC (extra-low voltage), which the installer handles. The 240V mains connection from wall power to the transformer must be performed by a licensed electrician under AS/NZS 3000. Our controllers are RCM-marked and ship test-cycled. The mains side is your sparky's work, not the film installer's.
Yes — that's the primary use case. Smart film has a self-adhesive PDLC backing that bonds directly to the interior face of existing glass. Dry application only (no water). Clean glass thoroughly, apply film, squeegee from centre out, edge-seal with the included silicone kit, wire bus bars to the controller. Full steps in the installation manual.
7–14 business days from confirmed payment to delivery at your site or depot, depending on order size and your state. For urgent jobs, call us — if stock allows we can often cut and dispatch next day for metro locations.
One controller per zone for independent panel control — each zone gets its own switch, remote or app channel. For grouped control (all panels switch together), wire them in parallel on a single controller. Both configurations are covered with wiring diagrams in the install manual included with every order.
Always bench-test before install — apply to a spare glass panel, power up, check for dead zones or inconsistent switching. If defects exceed 3% of panel surface, photograph and submit a warranty claim within 7 days of delivery. We replace at no charge, cut to your original spec, dispatched within standard lead time. We cannot accept post-installation defect claims caused by improper application.

All new accounts start at Tier 1 (prepaid). Tier 2 unlocks automatically after 5 orders or a single order over $2,000 — no application required. Tier 3 is for accounts averaging 5 m²+ weekly or $3,000+ monthly, and unlocks Net 14 payment terms after 3 months at Tier 2. Everything happens automatically — we notify you when you move up.
Smart film is a 60V AC switched electrical product. Mains-side connection must be performed by a licensed electrician under AS/NZS 3000. All controllers and transformers carry RCM mark. Prices in AUD ex-GST. Quotes valid 14 days.
